Monaco to battle Haas in Hamburg final

Hamburg, Germany (Sports Network) - Argentine Juan Monaco and German favorite Tommy Haas won their respective semifinal matches on Saturday at the $1.1 million German Tennis Championships.

Monaco outlasted top seed Nicolas Almagro of Spain 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 on the red clay at Rothenbaum Tennis Arena.

The Argentine finished runner-up to Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic in Stuttgart last weekend. Monaco has two titles this year, both on clay (Vina del Mar and Houston) and is looking to capture his sixth career title.

Monaco will do battle with Haas in Sunday's final. The German defeated fourth- seeded Croat Marin Cilic 7-6 (9-7), 6-0 on Saturday.

Haas will look to win his second title of 2012 after winning in Halle earlier this year.

Monaco holds a 3-1 record against Haas.

The 2012 Hamburg champion will collect $265,000.
