|Paris, France (Sports Network) - Bradley Wiggins completed his first Tour de France championship on Sunday and became the first British rider to win cycling's most prestigious event.|
Wiggins held the coveted yellow jersey as the Tour's overall leader since Stage 7 and on Sunday rode into Paris triumphantly with his Sky racing teammates. He completed 120 kilometers from Rambouillet to the historic Champs Elysees among the peloton, just nine seconds behind teammate Mark Cavendish, who won the final stage in the French capital for a fourth time.
Cavendish finished in a time of 3 hours, 8 minutes and 7 seconds for his third stage win of the 2012 Tour and the 23rd of his career. The British rider from the Isle of Man also won Stage 2 and Stage 18 this year. continue>>
