Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Justin Masterson twirled a gem and struck out a season-high 11 batters and Michael Brantley drove in four runs as the Cleveland Indians downed the Seattle Mariners, 6-0, picking up a win for the third time in this four-game set. Masterson (7-2) yielded just three hits and two walks in seven innings of work for the Tribe, winners in 12 of their last 14 home games. Brantley homered and scored twice while Michael Bourn, Jason Kipnis and Mike Aviles all went 2-for-4 with at least one run scored. Felix Hernandez (5-3), who had been battling a sore back, took the loss after lasting a season-low five innings and surrendering six runs -- five earned -- on eight hits while striking out eight.

Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Matt Moore picked up his eighth win of the season and Luke Scott hit a tie-breaking homer in the fifth inning as the Tampa Bay Rays completed a three-game sweep with a 3-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles Sunday at Camden Yards. Moore (8-0) remained unbeaten to earn his major league-leading eighth win in his ninth start of the year after tossing seven strong innings, allowing five hits and one run. He added to his own club record with an 8-0 start to the season and also set a new franchise mark with his ninth straight victory dating back to last season. Matt Joyce added some cushion to Rays' lead with a questionable solo homer in the sixth that appeared to hit off an un-marked section of the hosts' foul pole in right field. The play was reviewed and called a home run, not a double, giving the Rays a 3-1 lead. Tampa Bay has won nine of 11. Adam Jones had two hits and drove in the lone Baltimore run with an RBI single, while starter Chris Tillman (3-2) allowed three runs on five hits, including both homers, to go along with four strikeouts over six innings. The Orioles added to their season-high losing streak with a fifth straight defeat, all of which have come at home.

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Jason Vargas hurled seven scoreless innings to lead the LA Angels of Anaheim to a 6-2 win over the Chicago White Sox in the finale of a four-game set at Angels Stadium. Vargas (3-3) scattered four hits and struck out six to earn his third win in four starts. Ernesto Frieri picked up his ninth save of the season despite giving up a run in the ninth inning. Erick Aybar drove in three runs, Howie Kendrick knocked in a pair and Chris Iannetta added an RBI and a run scored for the Angels, who earned a split of the series after winning their second straight game. Alex Rios' RBI double provided the lone run for the White Sox, who lost for just the third time in eight games. Jake Peavy (5-2) was charged with the loss after giving up four runs on four hits and five walks over six frames.

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Yoenis Cespedes hit a go-ahead home run in the eighth and the Oakland Athletics swept a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals with a 4-3 win. Leading off the eighth, Cespedes knocked a 1-0 pitch off Kelvin Herrera (2-4) deep into left center. Oakland reliever Ryan Cook allowed runners on second and third with two outs in the ninth, but managed to escape and notch his first save. Coco Crisp, Jed Lowrie and Josh Donaldson contributed with an RBI apiece for the Athletics. Oakland starter A.J. Griffin allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks in six frames. Jerry Blevins (3-0) pitched a scoreless eighth to pick up the win. Alex Gordon, Eric Hosmer and Chris Getz each drove in one run for the Royals, who have lost seven of their last nine games. Starter Luis Mendoza gave up three runs -- two earned -- on eight hits in six-plus innings.

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Dustin Pedroia clubbed a two-run homer and finished with three RBI, while John Lackey spun six stellar innings of one-hit ball to help the Boston Red Sox complete a three-game sweep of the Minnesota Twins with a 5-1 win Sunday at Target Field. Lackey (2-4) struck out five without walking a batter and allowed just one unearned run to halt a three- start skid in his 300th career start. Pedroia also scored twice and singled in the fifth to extend his hitting streak to 11 games, while Will Middlebrooks scorched a solo shot in the second for the Red Sox, who have won five straight games. Pedro Hernandez (2-1) was touched for three runs on nine hits over 4 1/3 frames to absorb the loss. Trevor Plouffe registered two of Minnesota's five hits and scored the lone run in the Twins' fifth straight setback.

Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - David Murphy stroked a go-ahead three-run homer in the sixth and the Texas Rangers won a slugfest, 11-8, over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday in the finale of a four-game set. Texas recorded 18 of the 31 total hits for the game, which featured five lead changes and saw Detroit third baseman Miguel Cabrera hit three home runs for just the second time in his career. Murphy's blast off Jose Ortega (0-1) represented three of the 10 runs scored for Texas between the fifth and seventh innings, with the left fielder finishing 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs scored. Adrian Beltre had four hits and knocked in a pair of runs, while Lance Berkman and Mitch Moreland had two RBI apiece to help the Rangers take three of four in this set and collect their 12th win in 16 games. Robbie Ross (2-0) tossed a scoreless seventh inning to pick up the win and Joe Nathan locked down his 13th save in the ninth. Despite knocking in five runs and going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, Cabrera was unable to keep the Tigers from dropping their eighth contest in 12 tries. Neither starter made it through five innings, with Texas starter Derek Holland getting tagged for four runs on eight hits and needing 106 pitches to get through 4 2/3 frames. Detroit's Doug Fister lasted just as long, giving up five runs on nine hits.

Toronto at New York, postponed

Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - Sunday's game between the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees has been postponed due to rain. No makeup date has been announced. The Yankees, who won the first two games of this series, were scheduled to send CC Sabathia to the mound in the finale. Toronto was slated to counter with R.A. Dickey.
