Description: Yankees starter David Phelps (elbow) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session according to MLB.com.
Insight: Phelps threw fastballs and changeups in the session. Phelps will throw another bullpen session on Friday and use his whole arsenal of pitches. His fantasy value is limited though as New York plans to bring him back as a reliever.
Description: Home plate umpire Tim Timmons ejected Yankees left fielder Brett Gardner from Tuesday\'s game against the Red Sox after arguing a called third strike.
Insight: The pitch from Joe Kelly appeared to be outside and Gardner would have walked to force in a run. Upon striking out, Gardner spiked his bat and helmet, which caused Timmons to toss him from the game. The strikeout was the left fielder\'s third of the game.
Description: The NFL suspended Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker four games for violating the substance abuse policy, but The Denver Post\'s Mike Klis reports the team believes Welker will be able to play Week 1.
Insight: ESPN\'s Adam Schefter reported that Welker tested positive due to taking amphetamines. Welker is not supposed to be reinstated until Week 6, but the Broncos have already said Welker is likely to play Week 1 because "suspensions are never announced this late in the week" with the "game plan" already "in place". It\'s not exactly late in the week especially since Monday was a holiday, but definitely check back this week to see an updated status on Welker.
Description: Jaguars rookie receiver Allen Robinson (hamstring) was limited in Monday\'s practice, but says he\'ll be ready for Sunday against the Eagles, according to Jags beat writer Ryan O\'Halloran.
Insight: Allen is behind fellow rookie Marqise Lee, Cecil Shorts and free agent Allen Hurns which means his fantasy value is minimal. He\'ll eventually jump past Hurns and grab the No. 3 receiver role.
Description: Philadelphia point guard Michael Carter-Williams (shoulder surgery) has not yet been cleared for five-on-five workouts with contact, according to 76ers GM Sam Hinkie.
Insight: Carter-Williams had surgery over the offseason to repair his left shoulder. He missed 12 games his rookie season, but won the Rookie of the Year with averages of 16.7 points, 0.8 3-pointers, 6.2 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.9 steals per game. If he can stay healthy, he should be a reliable point guard option especially in leagues that have no penalty for turnovers.
Description: The Timberwolves have acquired Thaddeus Young as part of a three-team trade with Cleveland and Philadelphia.
Insight: Minnesota did a good job to get Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett and Young for Kevin Love, who made it known that he was leaving in free agency anyway. Young was an underrated fantasy option last season, averaging 17.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.1 threes, 2.1 steals (third in the NBA) and 0.5 blocks per game. He\'ll start for the \'Wolves and should be the top offensive option as the team tries to replace Love\'s 26.1 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.
Description: Left wing Clarke MacArthur and the Senators have come to terms on a five-year extension.
Insight: MacArthur went on to tell the Ottawa Sun that he will not change the way he plays the game. "Just because I\'ve got a five-year deal, that doesn\'t mean I need to change a whole lot. I kind of want to play the same game. I want to play good in both ends." MacArthur had 24 goals and 31 assists in his first season in Ottawa last year.
