Kuba returns to Panthers fold
Sunrise, FL (Sports Network) - Defenseman Filip Kuba will return to the club which drafted him, signed by the Florida Panthers to a two-year contract on Sunday.
No financial terms were disclosed, but multiple reports state it is worth $8 million.
Kuba spent the last four seasons with the Ottawa Senators. Last year, the 35- year-old rearguard posted six goals and 32 points with a plus-26 in 73 regular-season games.
The native of the Czech Republic was an eighth-round selection in 1995 and spent parts of his first two NHL seasons with Florida, from 1998-2000, then went on to become an original member of the Minnesota Wild.
In 792 North American appearances, he has compiled 69 goals and 323 points for the Panthers, Wild, Lightning and Senators.
