Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - The Bobcats withdrew their qualifying offer to guard D.J. Augustin on Thursday, making him a free agent.

The team initially extended the offer last month.

Augustin, 24, was drafted No. 9 overall in 2008 and has averaged 10.9 points, 4.4 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 282 games with Charlotte.

He averaged 11.1 points in 48 games this past season.
