Insight: Grandal hit .312 with five homers in his first 24 games at the big league level, but he injured himself taking a hard swing at the end of July. He may be able to return to the Padres lineup by this weekend.

Insight: Grandal, the Padres No. 3 prospect, was hitting .317 with four homers in 120 at-bats for Triple-A Tucson this season. With only Nick Hundley (.169/.234/.282) standing in his way, Grandal should get plenty of playing time.
