Moustakas leads Royals in rout of Jays
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Mike Moustakas hit his first career grand slam and drove in a total of five runs, helping the Kansas City Royals dominate the Toronto Blue Jays, 11-3, in the opener of a four-game series.
Salvador Perez added a two-run homer and two runs scored for the Royals, who snapped a three-game skid. Yuniesky Betancourt had two RBI and two runs scored.
Everett Teaford (1-1) allowed three runs on five hits over seven innings to pick up his first win of the season. He struck out two and walked two.
Colby Rasmus and Jose Bautista hit solo homers for the Blue Jays, who have lost five of seven.
Ricky Romero (8-3), who came into the game with a 5-0 mark at home, gave up eight runs on 11 hits over six-plus frames. He struck out four and walked three.
