week.The top-30 players on the FedExCup Playoff Points list qualified for THE
TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club. Vijay Singh leads the points list
by 10,601 over Camilo Villegas. Singh will win the FedExCup and $10 million
annuity if he finishes the tournament this week. Singh won the first two
playoff events at The Barclays and the Deutsche Bank Championship. Villegas
won the BMW Championship three weeks ago. Last year, Woods closed with a
four-under 66 in the final round to cruise to his seventh win of the season
at THE TOUR Championship. Woods completed the event at 23-under-par 257 and
also won the inaugural FedEx Cup easily over Steve Stricker. Woods obviously
won`t be on hand to defend his title. Next week, the Fall Finish resumes with
the Turning Stone Resort Championship at Atunyote Golf Club in Verona, New
York. Last year, Steve Flesch captured the inaugural event.
