NCAA Game Summary - San Diego State at Army

West Point, NY (Sports Network) - Ronnie Hillman ran for 117 yards and two touchdowns, leading the San Diego State Aztecs to a 23-20 win over Army in a non-conference tilt at Michie Stadium.
Colin Lockett added a touchdown catch and finished with 113 yards on five receptions to help SDSU improve to 2-0 under new head coach Rocky Long.
Army is now 0-2, despite 157 yards and three TDs on the ground by quarterback Trent Steelman.
The Aztecs struck first on the second play from scrimmage, as Ryan Lindley connected with Lockett for a 68-yard touchdown pass to give SDSU an early 7-0 lead.
The Aztecs stretched their lead to 14-0 at the 5:33 mark of the opening quarter, as Hillman scored on a 16-yard scamper.
Army answered with an 11-play, 71-yard drive, capped by Steelman's one-yard touchdown plunge to make it a 14-7 game.
The Black Knights knotted the score at 14-14 on another touchdown run by Steelman, this time from 11 yards out with just under seven minutes to play until halftime.
Hillman put the Aztecs back on top with a 20-yard touchdown run at the 1:56 mark of the third quarter, although Abelardo Perez missed the extra point and the score remained 20-14.
Army once again responded with a 70-yard scoring drive, and this time Steelman found the end zone on a 17-yard run to make it a 20-20 game. Alex Carlton missed the extra-point that would have given Army the lead.
Perez atoned for his earlier missed extra point with a 42-yard field goal to give SDSU a 23-20 lead with 9:29 to play, and the defense held strong the rest of the way to secure the victory for the Aztecs.
Army held a decisive 446-292 edge in total offense, but three lost fumbles proved to be the difference in this contest. In all, the Black Knights put the ball on the ground eight times.
